Brown Acres is The Place To Be

Well, it's that time again:) We've had our field plowed and ready since Feb.,

but because we have had a lack of moist droplits from the sky, we've been a bit delayed

with the planting:( We finally got a little rain but not enough to plant the whole thing

so we just planted the lower part of the field .

Fertilizing the dust of the earth so we can grow luscious.........

Fun...though it does look a bit dry down there. I love your little red tractor but a horse would be more authentic with that plow! :)

The best fruit of all is all of the character building and nice healthy hardy children.

Hi! I have been reading your blog for a while and have a few pattern/sewing questions:
What patterns are the camo skirts and jumpers? Did you just make them up? And how did you do the overall dresses? I think they are really cute and are a good way to recycle cheap overalls from thrift stores and stuff.
Thanks! I like reading your blog!

Hey Julia,

Thank you for leaving us a comment.

To answer your question about the skirts and jumpers:

The skirt pattern we use is Simplicity 9466. The pattern is for special occassions and things like that, but we just use it for everyday clothes(seeing thats its really hard to find long skirt patterns).

For the overall jumpers, we cut the bottom of the overalls off at the waist then added the skirt. Its really easy to do, and you can add all kinds of things to the skirt if you like.

The jumper, was a mix mash of a bunch of different patterns. Just pick out you favorite top, and your favorite bottom and put them together!

Have fun!
