The Pollock's Chicken Hatchery

Liv decided to experiement with this "rigged" incubator.

She finally got the temperature just right.

Now, in 21 days, if all goes well, we should have some chicks.

21 days later....

things are really happening....

and the experiment worked.

Isn't the Lord so good to us. He even cares about the little things.

Black Star chicks.

The blacks are hens and yellows are .......(can you guess)?

Awwwww

The end to a good day.

Hello!

Thanks for posting about your new barnyard additions! My brother and I just picked up our 27 (egg layer) chicks from the post office yesterday. I'm hoping to get a bunch of broilers as well.

Wonderful camera and photography Ariana and Christiana!

We hope to meet y'all someday. It seems like we practically know your family through the Dishers, Stricklens and Frodges, the letters, and the blog. :)

Blessings in Christ,
Mallory for the Whiddon Family

Awww, there's nothing like getting to watch chicks hatch from an egg! Those were great pictures, ladies! It is such a blessing to be able to raise children in an agricultural environment!

Congratulations to Liv on the successful hatchings! That is so amazing, isn't it? Our chickens (years ago) hatched out their own chicks and it is still so interesting to watch!

We just got our 25 layers today!! It has been quite a few years since we had our own chickens -- far too long! But we are finally ready for them with all our "other" projects well on their way to being accomplished -- PRAISE THE LORD!!
The children were SO excited (namely Margaret, CJ and Wills). Of course William is desperate to "want hold chicks"!

Looks like the Pollock Hatchery is a great success! Those broilers are absolutely adorable! (As are the chicken caretakers -- Mary and Jon!)

Love,
The Stricklens

Our family has had many broilers and they only stay cute for a little while so enjoy them now. =)
We have tried the incubator several different times but we only get a few to hatch each tme so good job Liv.
Enjoy your new additions to the farm.

What a great feat - hatching out your own chicks! It's hard to get the temperature just right - we tried it years ago and had a little success, but when they hatched from "God's hatchery" (Mama hen) they were much more successful for us! Grace even had a mama hen hatch out quite a few duck eggs. That was surely interesting!

Yet another nice post from the Pollock Farms inc.

Hello, Whiddon family! Fancy "meeting you here"! So you all got chicks too? How fun. Everybody's got chicks but us :( Oh well, I'm sure someday... on the farm, we'll have more chicks than we care to look at at one time!
